ahah oh that. I still stand by that comment.

listen to the summer of 69’

You mean “commentS,” plural. I seem to recall us having a nice conversation about the whole thing… oh, here it is: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/college-life/784787-when-did-you-lose-your-virginity-4.html#post1063325180

My favorite part is when you said that you weren’t insecure. Yet the first thing you do when you fail is to post here, asking people to make you feel better.

I had three exams this past week: Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. My Semiconductors (I’m an EE) exam at 9am on Friday did not go well at all. It is 35% of my grade in the class. I really hope to get a 50% after the curve. Probably the worst I have ever done on an exam.

My son called home yesterday, saying he’s an idiot because he missed his exam. He thought it started at 1:30, but it started at 1:00pm. Someone from his anatomy lab tried to call him, but he didn’t recognize the number so didn’t answer his phone. Now he has to take the exam orally, sometime after Wednesday, in between 3 other tests.

lol ok panic

Anyway thanks everyone for your comments they definitely helped…After bombing this test the planets still seem to be in alignment so I guess it’s not that big of a deal, I’ll just get an A on my next chem exam and I’ll be golden.

Let me contribute. Last year I got caught for plagiarizing on my theology paper and got 0 on it. Then I bombed the final exam and ended up with an F in that class. Oh well, who cares about theology bs anyway…

Sure. Easy as squares.

ahah got roped on the ole plagiarism eh that’s pretty rough yg7s7.
Panic, you’re starting to make me feel uncomfortable bud.

That’s what I was trying to do, bud.

…;)

I did really badly on one of my midterms. I had a migraine, I’m 2 weeks behind everyone else in the class, and I sat down and everything went out of my head…
it was awful. When we got it back, I then learned that apparently they grade on a 7pt scale, so a 71 is an F- and theres no curve. ahhhhhh

hold on, you’re taking organic chem.

this means you’re in chemical engineering, so you’re advice regarding girls doesn’t apply.

[Women in Engineering](<a href=“Women in Engineering at the University of Waterloo | Women in Engineering | University of Waterloo”>Women in Engineering at the University of Waterloo | Women in Engineering | University of Waterloo)

its much easier for you than some in elec.
It’s okay, I totally blew at Chemistry too. For whatever reason, I can understand the fundamentals of calc 3, thermodynamics, magnetism, etc etc etc but I can’t for the life of me figure out ANYTHING within the Chemistry spectrum. I guess it just doesn’t mesh well with some people’s brains.

I had to take both chem 1 and chem 2 for my major (civil engineering) and I got a C in both chem 1 (first C of my entire life) and chem 2. For the chem 1 final I took adderall (sp?) and studied for about 15 hours and STILL failed it. For my chem 2 final I figured it’d make absolutely no difference whether I studied or not, so I went out the night before and took my final hungover and got a 45% on it, making my average in the class .5% above passing.

So yea, Chemistry pretty much killed my gpa, I’d have nearly a 4.0 if it weren’t for those 2 wretched semesters, but I still have a 3.5 so whatever.

End mini rant.
Lol, I almost didn’t believe that for a minute. I’m a Civil Engg freshman here (first semester) and I’m having the very same problem. I’ve done Calc BC in high school, Physics C: Mech and E&M in high school, and many other random APs. ALL of that makes sense, and I’m on a 68% in my first semester chemistry class here. This is basically a slightly dumbed down and more analytical version of AP Chem (which a lot of my peers did in junior yr of high school), and I’m still sucking at it.
I feel its a completely pointless and stupid subject (don’t get me wrong, I can very much see all its usefulness and real world applications and blah…blah…blah) and a waste of time. I can’t believe I scored in the bottom 25% of the class. People who are undecided about majors and are sure they don’t wanna go into the sciences are acing it with 90%, whereas me, a random civil engg freshman who gets everything in the world except chemistry, fails it miserably.

sigh, this sucks.
sorry for the rant hijack.
/endrant

@Thermo…actually no I’m not in chemical engineering but I don’t really see how it could be easier for anyone to get girls because of their major.

Plagiarizing on a theology paper? What, did you not cite one of the Apostles when you quoted from the Bible?

You not only got a 0 on the paper, you probably got dinged in Heaven too, He’s watching you now!!

I’m surprised people who are doing well in engineering/physics don’t understand basic chem. Basic chem classes are pretty easy, it’s the advanced stuff that gets hard…Idk, I would understand if someone was struggling with biology, but not chem. Different people think differently, i guess. For me, Bio is really hard because it’s soooo much reading and you have to understand all these complicated concepts in depth, and there’s not much math in molecular/cell bio, microbio, intro bio, etc. There’s no problem solving, it’s just really analytical and time-consuming. If any Bio majors are reading this and could give me tips, i would really appreciate it…
I’m double majoring in Chem/Neuro and I get the chem, but neuro is like a bio major + more specialized classes and the bio is kicking my ass right now.

I got below the class average when the class average was an F+. And yes, this is general chemistry. Shoot me now.

I got a 42/100 on my first o-chem exam and even after studying my ass off for the one i had today, i don’t think i did very well (and it’s a shame bc I understood all the mechanisms but he only put 1 on the whole fricken exam).

It’s kind of funny how it’s the exact opposite for me. I’m a bio major and Physics+Gen Chem are my biggest weaknesses. Bio comes easier to me, I’m good at memorizing and I’m good at putting together a concept in my head to make sense of it. Basically all I do is while I’m reading the material in the book I take notes at the same time (either type or write) and I read it out loud sometimes and if it’s something confusing then I try to picture it in my head and see how it could logically happen.
