I just got accepted today; when I first applied I thought it was a sure-thing, but lately all these people getting deferred had me worried. So here are my stats, maybe it will give some of you guys some hope!

Decision: Accepted
Major: Business Administration (Pre-business)

Stats:[ul]
[] SAT: 1870
[] SAT IIs: Math II-690; Literature-660
[] ACT: didn’t take
[] GPA: Unweighted: 3.37, Weighted: I’m not 100% sure, but it’s less than 3.5
[] Rank: 203/653
[] Other stats: only one AP class through my junior year; taking two this year and maybe taking an AP economics test, although my school doesn’t offer it
[/ul]Subjective:[ul]
[] Essays: honestly, it wasn’t that great; it was only a 300 word essay and a very broad topic so I didn’t think it was important, plus I wrote it in only a day. I talked about why I was attracted to tOSU (huge alumni network, strong business program, Air Force ROTC and school athletics/spirit)
[] Teacher Recs: It wasn’t very professional, my Leadership teacher/Activities Director wrote it in a very informal way
[] Counselor Rec: The counselors at our school don’t write recommendations because there are too many of us and only two of them
[] Applied: submitted online app on December 1st, but that was when I mailed the counselor form and other paperwork so not everything was there at first.
[/ul]Location/Person:[ul]
[] State or Country: California
[] School Type: New, Large Public School (the best in the District; in the top 20% of CA)
[] Ethnicity: Half Filipino, Half Caucasian
[] Gender: Male
[li] Income: 80-90k, ~15k EFC[/li][/ul]Other Factors: Never had a job. Besides 4 years as a starter on the varsity baseball team, I wasn’t involved in my school at all until my junior year: I went 2 years of ASB office, 2 years of California Scholarship Federation, 2 years of Future Business Leaders of America, 1 year of NHS, and 1 year of Interact.
General Comments: Good luck! I’m waiting on my scholarship notification right now to make it a feasible option, but I’ll be waiting on my other admission notices from in-state schools; I should be getting the National Buckeye Scholarship, but it will still be my most expensive option.
