Just an Inquiry...

So I have a 3.77 unweighed GPA. Now, I understand that this makes me less of a contender. My question centers around the breakdown of this lower GPA. Generally, do you think it is preferable to have a single consistent weakness bringing down the average or general mediocrity? I, personally, suck at english but have recieved no lower than a B. If english was taken off my GPA, I would easily have a ~3.90. So here's my question. Does this display of weakness lessen my chance?

On a side note, my faults in english are not as evident in my college essay. Informal and creative writing is my forte. So consider the english grades as an isolated case and not manifesting themselves anywhere else on the application.

I think if you have clear, impressive strength and accomplishments in math/science, Bs in English won’t keep you out.
