Just an observation

For all the chance threads out there.

This year at my high school, which usually sends at least 5 seniors to Ivy League schools out of about 125 students, not a single senior got into an Ivy League without being either an Under Represented Minority, Legacy, or Recruited Athlete. All the people that were rejected were highly qualified (2200+ SATs, 3.8+ GPA, Great EC's) but what this illustrates is, when people say Ivy admissions are tough, they are.

Not to discourage anyone; Everyone should definately still apply wherever they want to go. But, one just has to know that it is very difficult to be accepted, and when you don't have one of those "desirable factors" then it is even tougher.

i agree but even URM's and Legacies get rejected. i think Recruited Althetes are favored most because they show well-roundedness.

i think everyone knows ivy-league admissions is tough.

I agree with the recruited athletes part....

friend of mine is going to Georgetown cuz he recruited. He was captain of the football team.

EDIT: Sorry, forgot we r talking about Ivy Leagues here
