I applied EA to Yale this year and unfortunately I was deferred. But after sending out all of my applications to other colleges this winter break, I was able to see just how much my application improved overall from essays to the way I presented my self in general. Does anybody else feel that their RD apps are much better than the app they used for Early admission?

haha i feel the same exact way! after submitting my columbia ED application, felt a little diffident. but after submitting several applications these past several days, i was left with a little smile hahaha

That’s good advice! Thanks for posting, I’m gonna make a note of that for the future!

I felt the same thing actually.

I actually didn’t change my application at all. Maybe that’s bad :(

oh definately, that’s why they say it’s not a good idea to apply to your favorite school early action in the likely event that you’re deferred or rejected

My RD apps def improved…especially the ESSAYS!! gosh my yale EA essays sucked I used the same ones for princeton but edited them…they were sooo much better…

^pigs - I wish I’d known that BEFORE november 1st and btw your info box is no longer stretchy on IE7 haha

I didn’t apply to Yale EA, I applied to MIT and Chicago EA, but my RD apps are SO much better than my EA apps.

dammit!!! pigs I miss your stretchy info box!!!

wails

^awww should i make it stretchy again??

YES. PLEASEEEEEEEEEEEEE

my soul has been dying slowly ever since the stretchiness went away :(

ok will do!!!

I think my best apps were my MIT and UChicago EA ones. But I also haven’t written any essays for RD. The closest I came was “Why Yale,” which was about 3 sentences long.

Pig’s infobox was never stretchy for me! feels left out

I feel EXACTLY the same way. Admittedly my MIT EA didn’t use the commonapp, but I still feel like the optional essay I included was way below the level of my CA essay. oh well…
