Teacher Rec #1: (9/10) - Math teacher. Should be very very good, he knows me very well, knows how hard a work, I am leader in the classroom, active, stay after school a lot with him
Teacher Rec #2: (8/10) - Macro teacher. Should be pretty good, also the varsity golf coach so he has seen how much time I put into the game
Counselor Rec: (7/10) - She likes me a lot but I can imagine that it would be generic.
Additional Rec: (10/10) - Volunteer Coordinator - honestly this one should be absolutely stunning, he really sees the amount of effort and passions I put in, he has emailed me multiple times personally lauding me for my work

Essays: Started the Common App essays should be at least 8/10

Other

State: NJ
School Type: Public (very competitive) --> Top 20 in NJ
Ethnicity: Asian
Gender: Male
Income Bracket: Couldn’t tell you, about 99% sure I won’t need aid
Hooks: Dad did undergrad and grad at Wharton, mom went to NYU for graduate

Here are the schools:

UPenn Wharton ED
UChicago EA
UVA EA
Maybe MIT EA
Rutgers EA

Yale
Harvard
Stanford
Columbia
Duke
Northwestern
Cornell Dyson
Georgetown McDonough
NYU Stern

I will chance back :).

First time chancing someone so here is goes:

Pros:

  1. Test scores, GPA and academic rigour. I would only take one more SAT II. Lower scores can only hurt you.
  2. Volunteer experience.
  3. Goes out of your way to take business courses and participate in business activities.

Cons:

  1. Didn’t participate in business clubs.

UPenn Wharton ED - low reach
UChicago EA - mid reach
UVA EA - high match
Maybe MIT EA - high reach
Rutgers EA - safety

Yale - high reach
Harvard - high reach
Stanford - high reach
Columbia - mid reach
Duke - low reach
Northwestern - low reach
Cornell Dyson - low reach
Georgetown McDonough - high match
NYU Stern - high match

Your interest in business and strong math skills will give you a good chance at the business schools. HYPSM are reaches for everyone. Just write good essays and I’m sure you’ll get into one of the ives and other great schools!

@kuriosmind Thanks so much for the chance. I actually forgot to add it on but I have been a member of the Stock Market Club for the past two years. Our school doesn’t have DECA but the one thing I do regret is not joining FBLA as I always thought it wasn’t to serious. If you also have a chance thread post the link.

You should try to start a DECA club at your school! Show some of that business initiative!
