Just another chances thread

Hi I’m heading into my senior year and have just finalized my college list. I was wondering if people could help me determine my chances at the schools im applying to. The schools i plan on applying to are:
Duke (ED)
WashU (RD)
Vanderbilt (RD)
Georgetown (EA)
Emory (RD)
USC (RD)
Villanova (EA)
Miami (EA)
BU (RD)
Loyola Maryland (EA)
UMD (priority)

Here’s some basic info on me:
Private catholic all male school in MD. 3.72/4.00 UW GPA 4.22/4.50 W GPA. 2180 on old SAT (760 CR, 720 W, 700 M) and a 33 composite on act (36 r, 33 w, 32 m 31 sci). for sat IIs 740 US history, 760 Chem, 750 lit, 740 Spanish, 770 bio m, waiting on Latin and world history scores.
Will graduate having taken ap euro, apush, ap Lang, ap lit, ap Chem, ap bio, ap Spanish, ap calc Ab, and ap psych.
Senior year course load: ap bio, ap psych, ap calc ab, ap Spanish, ap English lit, honors theology iv.
ECs: 4 seasons varsity soccer, 4 seasons varsity indoor track, 4 years of baseball 3 varsity one JV. Will be Captain of all three senior year. President and cofounder of young men for change basically bring in speakers to talk about what it means to be a man in today’s society. Class vp 4 years in a row. A few national honor societies. Acapella group for my school 4 years. Work outside of school. Tutor kids in Spanish. Summer job as a camp counselor
Not applying for financial aid and am a URM (Hispanic). Undecided on major probably something in science likely bio or Chem
LoR’s:
Asked my English teacher for one because I had her freshman and junior year should be about a 7 or 8 out of 10
Guidance counselor rec: I’m close with my guidance counselor and he really likes me so 8 or 9 out of 10
Essay: should be good we spent fourth quarter of English writing ours so my ap Lang teacher edited it.
I know Duke and a few others are unlikely because of my gpa but do I have a shot still? Thanks to anyone who comments.

Your safe schools (In my opinion the ones you have a high chance of acceptance): University of Maryland, Loyola Maryland, Miami (I assume you mean University of Miami and not Miami University in Oxford, Ohio), and Boston University.
Matches (in my opinion ones that you have a decent chance of getting into): Villanova (will be harder to get into this year due to their successful basketball season), USC, Emory.
Reaches: Duke, Vanderbilt, WashU, Georgetown. These schools are reaches for the majority, and it’s always hard to chance someone on these schools because it’s a gamble. You had a rigorous high school coursework, good ACT score, a healthy list of ECS, and are a URM so you’re chances are higher because of those.

Try you’re best to keep up or improve your GPA during senior year. And remember, this is just a prediction and with college acceptances anything can happen. Good Luck :slight_smile:
