Just another girl who wants to get in....

I'm a rising senior and lately, the college pressure has definately been on. I'm seriously considering Carleton and I might even apply ED. I was wondering if anyone could give me their 2 cents on whether I might get in or not. My GPA isn't really all that good mainly because I go to a top private school for girls and I personally find the courses really tough. Also, junior year, my grandfather died so I had to fly back to China (I'm chinese by the way, kinda scared that will work against me) and I ended up missing quite a bit of school. But anyhoo... here it goes.

On your side, challenging course selection in a highly competitive HS, strong ECs, and solid across the board standardized test scores including SAT 2's. These should offset below-average grades if applying early decision and I would think you would be a strong candidate. RD, I would dare venture, would be up in the air, acceptance/rejection quite difficult to predict. I've seen lots of 1500+ SAT scorers unfortunately not make the cut.

what's "RD"?

Regular Decision
