Just another nervous rising senior - Please chance!

Hello everybody. First, I want to say thank you because I truly appreciate this. Second, please be honest because I really want to know if I am totally delusional about my college choices. Thanks!

Intended major: International Relations/Studies
I really would like to be in an urban campus and at a school with good study abroad and internship programs.
So far this is my list of colleges that I am applying to:
- Fordham University
- New York University
- George Washington University
- Boston University
- University of Massachusetts - Amherst
- American University
- Trinity College
- DePaul University
- Goucher College
- University of Minnesota - Minneapolis
- Northeastern University
I don't really have any safeties. Does anyone know one that might be worth looking into?

WORK EXPERIENCE:
- Babysit my cousin and then my other cousin's child almost every week.
- Work for my father's cleaning company every Friday and Saturday night during the school year and whenever I am needed during the summer. Not the most glamorous job, I know.

It sounds like you have a pretty good shot at all of those colleges (: Just keep your grades up senior year and you’ll be fine! Being a first generation college student definitely helps and make sure you write good essays. You may want to apply early to out of state colleges too. Good luck (:

Would it be possible for you to chance me back? I have a post called Chance me for UNC Wilmington & ODU.

I think you’ve made some pretty good choices here that match your stats. The only school that I see as a semi-reach is NYU but at the same time I’ve seen kids similar to you gain acceptance there. You should have nothing to worry about, you will probably get into most (if not all) of the schools listed with a strong essay that highlights a true passion and quality letters of rec.

Good luck!

I agree with the above poster- I honestly think you will get into most if not all of the schools listed. The only real reach is NYU.

I think you should study really hard to up your SAT because then, you could have a shot at schools that are even more selective than the ones you’ve listed.

Thanks guys! I will be studying hard for the SAT. Hopefully I can improve it by at least 100 points. I’m a little shocked that GW wouldn’t be a reach because I have it listed as a reach for me.
