just answer this question about essays?

okay, none of my questions get anwered and i don't know why. they aren'te ven stupid chance me, questions, but they get a 100 views with no answer.
ahem.
NOW. most of my colleges need essays that are under 500 words.
a few of my essays range between 380-450. i know 450 is alright, but should i do something about the smaller essays? or is it okay to be around a 100 below the limit?

also, cornell asks me ‘How have your interests and related experiences influenced your selection of major?’
now i’ve spoken about that. and i’ve also spoken about my goals and how these experiences have made me form my goals etc etc.
is that relevant, or not?

Although it’s possible to do a great job with a few words, be sure you respond fully and to the best of your ability. Usually, that takes a word count near the limit.

Look specifically at the wording of the word limit. Does it say no more than or in about 500 words?

Yes.

thanks man. and another question.
the commonapp essay limit says ABOVE 250 words. what’s the best length?
i started off with a 1000 and as i edited it, it’s been trimmed down to 650-700. that okay?
