Essay**
Common App essay is about shaving my head. The Swim team has a tradition of coloring and shaving our heads for District Championships each year. I talked about how I learned about traditions, leadership, and judgment from this experience, in order to support my bigger thesis that it is often the seemingly unimportant experiences (such as shaving your head for swimming) that teach us the biggest life lessons.

For my personal statement (had to write about an intellectual interest) I wrote about behavior and how I like to create my own ideas about human nature/behavior. I also related this to why I like my job because I can observe people as a lifeguard.

do people not chance because they don’t know much about Lafayette or am I doing something wrong?

Your Sats are a little low for lafayette’s standards but they probably wont harm you too much, because overall you seem to be a very strong candidate. Hope you get in, post here or send me a PM when you hear!

Thank you for your reply :D. I will post what happens if I remember to.

Good luck! I think you have a great shot, Lafayette doesn’t weight test scores very highly. I spoke with an admissions officer yesterday at the open house and she was very informative. I am also applying there; it is one of my top choices.

Thank you for your reply also :D. I wish you luck with your application as well.

Good luck to you on your ED application! I think your record looks terrific! Ed is the way to go for Lafayette admissions if you are sure of your choice. Will you let us know when you hear? It won’t be long now so sit tight and good luck to you.

yeah early decision really helped you alot. you shouldnt have mcuh to worry about your ecs are good, and layfayette puts alot into ED. youll be fine. im applying RD here.
Good Luck

Hey chance me back
ivy league 2014/others?

Thanks for your opinions. I will try to remember to post if I get in. Also, I hear I am supposed to get a notification that they received my app that also contains a log in code for Lafayette? How long does it take to receive that?

I just went online to check the status of my application and Lafayette has gotten all of my stuff. I should have a decision within 30 days… I’m a little nervous…

Sorry for the triple post, but I just got my SATs back. I only improved my CR to 570 but increased my writing to 600. My super-score is now 1840 (cr: 570 m: 670 w:600). Will this help me with their decision? The fact that I took three tests and didn’t jump in reading won’t hurt me right?

I think you helped yourself with your improved SAT. Even more important, however, is the fact that you applied ED. I think you’ll get in.

Just wanted to post like I said I would. I just got my letter today; I was accepted. Thank you to those who replied.
