Just cant get 800 in Math!!!!!

Math scores all around 780, 790, 760, but never reach full score! Usually mistakes stem from carelessness, but however focused I am I just cant get 800. Does anyone have similar experience or helpful advice?

I did the practice test and got 590 for math …

my sis is like you but finally she got 800 in Math

Hope I can get it too.

thx! u r definitely getting higher scores!
but it is truly upsetting bc I actually know how to do them.

it may be lack of either carefulness or luck.

^
or maybe lack of particular concepts! OP, make sure that you know all tricks!

My only advice is that it’s pretty much luck, I would say. My first time, no prep, I got an 800. I was just lucky that there were no questions that tripped me up or were worded so oddly that I interpreted them wrong. In the only practice section I’ve done, I got one wrong. I really don’t think colleges will see an 800 too different then your high 700. At least I wouldn’t.

If one can handle all Barron’s math or even understand how it should be done, I think that he or she might get a 800. Right?

never got an 800 on my practice tests. always got 700’s.

got an 800 on the real thing, so yeah.

the day of the exam, you should be more focused than you are while taking practice tests

story of my life

Yes! I am excellent at math and I have gotten 100s in every math course I have taken. But then I take the SAT and get a 700 or something low. And I’ll go back and look at what I did and see that I did all this complex math perfectly and then missed the question by accidentally saying that 3*3 is 18 or something stupid like that.

it does not make too much different if i only look at math score indeed. but the overall scores can be largely affected. 100 points is not small when it comes to overalls. but thx!

exactly. today i took the left 10 min to check my answers and i got a 800.:)

lol
good luck!!!

yeah. chinese students take much higher level of math courses, so it would be sort of embarrassing to lose points in math tests…
