<p>I believe schools also have an overall target across all teams to make to keep within the league rules. So different schools allocate different targets to the various teams. That is how you end up with certain Ivy schools specializing in one sport or another. They allocate their “hits” to their overall AI average differently.</p>
<p>although there is one thing I believe it explained poorly. I believe the limits in each AI band are set overall for school … and the school then can decide how to split the recuirts in the “lower” AI bands across sports. So one school may focus their 4th band recruits on football while anothere focuses on hockey. Bottom line, to get near that 171 minimum a athlete would need to be a high impact player in a high impact sport (think starting QB … and opposed to 3rd hurlder).</p>
