Just curious about something

Do colleges look at accepted seniors' final transcripts only when ensuring that the student has maintained his academic standard or do they look at each progress report?

bump
I'm just curious because I want to know my absolute worst case scenario!

I forget what my acceptance letter from Penn says. My acceptance letter from Chicago says that they did not accept me based on my numbers, but by my words and actions, so they probably wont do anything if you barely graduate. Michigan specifically says that they reserve the right to rescind your admissions if your academic performance is lacking senior year. The better the college, the less likely they are to resind your admission for a few bad grades because it requires so much more than a 4.0 to get in. Some state schools end up overenrolling, so they may resind admission for the lower level admits who get poor grades senior year.

Right, but do they wait for the final grades or in mid year?

As you know different schools have different policies. You may be best served by taking the most conservative position, and continue your best work rather than succumbing to senioritises....just a thought...

I know. I've been working hard, but my grades slipped a tad overall, and I don't know how I did on exams I just finished today.

Yeah my grades in calc and physics went from A-/A to B-/B+, which is awesome considering I'm applying engineering to Cornell and such, but I managed straight A's in all the other classes...hah.

Yeah - actually the adcom from Skidmore came to our school earlier this week, and she said that if that the final transcript d/n show the kind of achievement you've had in the last 3 years of your HS career, they'll send you a letter saying, "W-T-F?! Improve NOW!" ...basically. She said about 10 kids a year come in on 'probation' b/c of their crappy academic performance S2 of Senior year.
