Just curious

Why is it that the lowest score possible on any section of any SAT test is a 200? Why is there a lower bound? Why isn't it just 0?

I'm sure the collegeboard hasn't given out a statement so most likely no-one knows, but maybe someone does?

^ Yeah, the College Board is pretty weird like that and they don't give a reason why. We also don't know why, for example, on the ACT the math section has five answer choices while all the other sections have four (all of these test makers like to keep things a bit secretive.) Psychologically speaking, it's not beneficial to hear someone got a "0" on something- it sounds like he completely failed the test. Perhaps they want to combat this? (But that's just my guess.)
