<p>Right now PSU is my top choice. I was accepted to the College of Communications as a journalism major. Some questions I have are does anyone know how hard it is to get involved with the Daily Collegian, What other publications are there, and What is the Sports Journalism Center like?</p>
<p>Just another thing, what are intramural sports, especially basketball like?</p>
<p>My S is in the journalism program and really likes it. You don't really get too heavy into the journalism stuff until junior year, once you've gotten all of your ged eds out of the way. </p>
<p>S went to the Collegian tryouts this week. It's very competitive. I believe there were more than a hundred people there, and they only end up taking about 30 or so. The tryout process includes a writing test as well as an interview.</p>
<p>If you qualify for a work study gig, there are also some writing-related work study positions, which might help you get some valuable experience.</p>
