Just figured out my teacher never submitted her reccomendation to the common app. How bad is this?

So I filled out my application and everything went well, my teacher told me she wrote my reccomendation and even gave me a copy of it. I reminded her to submit it online and she agreed and I assumed everything would be okay.

I go to check my app status and what do you know, she never submitted it. The status says “Incomplete”

How much of a problem is this? I reminded her and she submitted it ASAP, but still like 20 days past the deadline. I wouldn’t be too worried if I hadn’t put “Early Decision” on my application, because now I can’t edit anything and cannot reapply for the normal admission. Am I completely screwed now? Will they ever check again to see if the rec is up?

Mail the rec

OP here, I got the application submitted to the common app website and it was automatically applied to my application (no mailing any letters or anything). No worries for anybody in this situation in the future, but I doubt I am still being considered for Early Admission.

@Redjericho‌ Did you call admissions? Are you still considered as an EA applicant?

@ssahil I called them, they told me they couldn’t tell me whether or not my specific application was considered Early Action or not because they apparently don’t store that info on a per-application basis. However, I was accepted on Jan 9th, which is the same date as many students who did apply early action (and quite possibly the very last wave of EA decision).

[Double post, not sure how to delete]

@Redjericho‌ If they released the last wave of EA application yesterday, why haven’t I received my decision yet? I applied Early Action with all supporting documents submitted before the deadline.

I’m so worried now.

It might not be the last wave, nobody knows for sure…

Also, if he in fact did apply EA, there’s no way they’d accept us before him if we weren’t EA @Redjericho‌

@ssahil I actually don’t think this was the last wave, I read somewhere that January 26th is when they should be done with EA applicants. (Didn’t they promise a decision before the end of January?) You just unluckily got placed at the very bottom of the pile.

@Redjericho‌ According to this link, Ohio State University says “Those autumn semester applicants to the Columbus campus who meet the November 1 early action deadline and indicate interest in early action on the Common Application will receive our admission decision in mid-December. Otherwise, within approximately 10 to 12 weeks (and no later than the end of March for those applying to begin in autumn semester), your online application status will reflect one of the following admission decisions:”

However, according to another link on the official Ohio State website, it says “(decision by mid-January)”

I’m not too sure why there is conflicting information on their website. I applied on October 15, so its almost been 11 weeks. Hope my decision comes out in the week on Jan 12.
