im sure theyll figure it out, i cant imagine theyd penalize you for that

On the World History AP Exam I did parts B and C first and the DBQ last. They didn't penalize me.

LadyinRed, I went 2-1-5 so I could write in chronological order. I'm not worried, I asked the proctors and they said go for it. Except... uh oh... by "new page," did they mean new piece of paper and not just the other side of the paper? Cause... I might be screwed if they meant new piece of paper. Agggh.

Anyway, how much classwork paper did everyone end up with by the end of this year, if you kept notes/handouts/essays? I have a 3-inch binder that is about to bust, full of nothing but AP US History.

Kelly05, there were lines on the back of the paper... clearly you were meant to use them.

Quick-

You crack me up.

Indeed, Galen, but if they separate the essays from each other, then separating the front of the paper from its back is going to be tricky. That's all I was wondering about.

Ah. Well, IIRC, you could fill in what essay you were writing on both sides. Regardless, I human reads it, so I doubt there's going to be much of a problem. As long as you wrote something worthwhile, that is. ;)

I tend to own MC, and my essays were decent so I think I got a 5. MC was very easy, but I think about 90% of the ones I got wrong were in the 70s (by question number). DBQ topic really surprised me, especially considering last year's topic. For the FRQ, I did the second topic of the "old" questions and the first topic of the "new" questions. For the two time periods for that question, I did the latter two, but some of what I wrote about the most recent period was BSed. I did just fine on the first FRQ, as I had plenty of outside information. DBQ went pretty good, I finished right on pace, although I hated the topic. I had trouble understanding the one document involving a plow, though.

To the kid with the Princeton Review- I studied almost entirely out of it and, based on my practice tests, it kicked butt. Practice tests were old exams from my history teacher and out of the PR, I usually got about 70 or so raw score...so who knows how that will equate on the exam.

Personally, I studied for a practice test we took a couple weekends ago at school, and it seemed to have stuck. I was psyched for the DBQ because it seemed so open ended, but I wrote on question 4 first- and like a madwoman. I had to ask for extra binder paper (3 pages worth)...and I loved question 3 too- we did one just like it on a practice test. I know of 2 MCs I screwed up- but after the Calculus fiasco of earlier this week, I really, really wanted to do something right.

Anyone else feel like Calculus kicked their butts? (and it WAS my favorite subject...)

Hoping for a five!

If anyone wants to check out how they might do on the essays, be sure to check out the AP US History site on college board and look at the sample essays and commentary. I looked at those last night and they were good to see what they expected from the essays.

On the MC, I laughed at the first page too as well at this one random question that was like the opposite time period of the aforementioned question. I always omit stupid hard questions like that so it doesnt bother me. The DBQ also gave me a good laugh as no one was predicting that.

I'm feeling great! Done with APs :)

MC = 20 omit (60 answered... 30 of them are 100% sures.. other 30 are 50/50 guesses)

DBQ = 5/6sh
Essay 1 = 4/5sh
Essay 2 = 5/6sh

I predict a 4!!!

MC = 1 omit (I know i got 60+ right)

i think i got a 5 despite my essay grades.

Wait, I thought the DBQ was worth 15?

The test is out of 180 points right?

skier dude...the dbq, and frqs are out of 9
u have to multiply the score of dbq by 4.5 and the scores for frqs by 2.75, and then add that to your multiple choice score which was multiplied by 1.125:
1.125 x ((MC correct) - (MC wrong x .25)) + 4.5(dbq score) + 2.75(frq1) + 2.75(frq2) = Your Score
Remember, the frqs and dbq are greated EXTREMELY HARD, scoring a 5 or 6 means you did EXTREMELY well..
Now, as for final grades, if your score is generally above 93~ you get a 4, above 115~ you get a 5...the test is out of 180.

are we allowed to discuss the the test questions?

xindianx...actually the dbq is out of 15
both frqs are out of 9
check online or in any test prep book and you'll find this information

FIRE2006...NOOOO! do not do this EVEr!

my dbq sucked

tomorrow morning we can discuss fr tho. gahhhh, 48 hours. i think my FR #2 was totally off.......
