Just For Fun - How many have you seen/visited?

26, and tickets to #27 on January 2nd.

32 out of 34. I haven’t been to the Wright Bros Memorial and DH and I have skipped the Road to Hana, though we’ve been to Maui many times.

  1. No WDW here, and now the kids are grown, I can’t imagine I’ll ever go.

In terms of National Parks, I’ve been to 27. Still missing all of Alaska though.

It seems a few of us should get together and go to Alaska…

Lots of cruises leave here from Seattle to go to Alaska and I have never been!

  1. And have been very close to 5 of the 6 that I’m missing, but not close enough to count!
  1. Which River walk though lol. Chicago River as a site… Lol I kayak in it… :canoe:

I assumed San Antonio, but I’ve also been to the Chicago one.

Edited to add, I’ve never kayaked on it, because I grew up close to the north branch and remember how filthy it was. Lol.

Yeah. There is more than one. But since not named I’d count either.

I assumed San Antonio, which is the only one I’ve seen marketed as uppercase R and W with a space separating: River Walk.

Haha… They cleaned it up but by Lane Tech High School there is an boat launch for kayaks. Even a very well known Kayak Club. Check out the pics on this site that we rent from.

Correct; Chicago is Riverwalk and San Antonio is River Walk. Been to both.

I attended Lane Tech! The Kayak Club looks cool but the images of dead fish in the water from my youth are too vivid. (insert shudder…lol)

Lol. That’s funny. The Kayak Club at this location just had like National Championship team but I can’t find the information… It’s not the clearest water… Lol. But on a nice day it’s beautiful and kinda cool looking at all the houses on the water there. You get a decent amount of wildlife also.

I’m at 31

Missing Fort Sumter, the Alamo, and the Wright Brothers Memorial. Which means my wife has been to 33, as she visited the Alamo on a business trip and I stayed at the hotel in Hilton Head when they visited Fort Sumter.

EDIT: Actually, the rest of the family went to “the beach” when we visited my daughter in Raleigh, so maybe the last one also.

(She also beat me to 50 by going to Fargo this Summer, joining the Best for Last club.)

23! Fun list!

I guess we’re odd that we’ve been to the Wright Brothers Memorial… to me, that’s one they could have dropped off their list for something more iconic like Carlsbad Caverns or Jamestown or Plymouth. Key West should have replaced South Beach IMO.

Also wondering why Mall of America is such an icon… I’d be dropping that one first if the list had been run past me for advice (not by the OP, but by whoever created it). Put Lake Superior on there if they want the general location. If they were looking for “northern” and “shopping” replace it with Wall Drug.

@Creekland I’ve actually been to the Wright Brothers Memorial 3 or 4 times so I guess that makes me REALLY odd!

I’m guessing you either live near or really like the Outer Banks.

Funny to read this discussion as I spent part of the day quilting a National Parks panel for a friend. It’s a panel with 62 of the 63 National Parks WPA style posters. https://www.amazon.com/Riley-Blake-National-Wilderness-Wonders/dp/B08BX7B1QZ/ref=asc_df_B08BX7B1QZ/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=621399878858&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=10794111943641288199&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=t&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9023226&hvtargid=pla-1752410243221&psc=1
