i live in georgia, and everyone here is all about some UGA. i know UGA is always considered one of the top 5 party schools in the country following the top contenders such as Arizona State and Texas. I was just wondering how UMich compares. I've learned a little about the scene from some relatives of mine in the southeastern area of michigan, websites like theu.com, and other sources, but I was just looking for some further comparisons.

But by all means, don't feel strictly limited to the party scene. any topics with regard to the social scene would be greatly appeciated! :) thanks

UM doesn't compare to the schools you list on the party scene scale. However, if that's what you're into, you will likely find it somewhere just about any time. However, most of the party scene occurs on the weekends. Most students are pretty serious about academics during the week.

at pretty much any college you will find somewhere to party on any given day. is it considered one of the top party schools in the country? no. if you want to party will you be able to find one? most likely.

The way things work is in the morning there is a smoke out from 11-noon across from the Student Activities Building on I believe division which qualifies as off-campus. Usually a very small percentage of people get the city ordinance fine for possession, but I think you almost have to be trying to get caught (but I suppose if you're high...who knows). I remember last year the Daily was chastising students for not being involved enough since not very many got arrested. After that is done, everybody moves to the Diag and then there's a weed-free pro-marijuana rally. There are usually a few speakers, and I think maybe a music act
