Just for the lolz ^-^

Well, I'm just posting this again, because it's fun.

My ACT:

EC:

National Honor Society: Member, 3 years
S.H.I.P. (Students Helping International Peace): Volunteer, 2 years

I have a ton of different interests and hobbies, but when I talked about them people refused to read paragraph upon paragraph :S

So there's the black and white. GO.

Thanks :D

Shoot for Vassar! They love lefty applicants (I assume that S.H.I.P.'s a bit liberal). Your ACTs are low for the Ivies :frowning: , but you should still be proud of them. I got a 29, too.

I loooove Vassar xD I think personality-wise it fits me exactly. I visited and the campus is so awesome…I’m a hippie too, if that makes a difference XD

And I’m also very liberal, haha.

I know my scores are in general low, but I’m not really ashamed of them. I don’t think I have to be perfect to have a shot…and maybe being less than average will add to the diversity? lol, but in all seriousness, I’m banking on my essays, interviews and recs…

YOUR SCORES ARE NOT LOW!!! Someone with your scores and GPA could do the work of any college. It’s just that Princeton and Brown get too many overqualified applicants.

That’s true…which is why I thought maybe it might even give me a little bit of a better chance XD

I can do the classwork…I really can. You can’t tell from these stats (Maybe my gpa though) that I’m a really hard worker. I love to learn…but I love to live too. I’m sure wherever I go I’ll be happy in my own niche, but I’d still be hugging the mailman if I got into UofC (My number 1!) or even Princeton U or Brown U. Heck, any acceptance will be nice :p

I feel the same way. I love to learn, but my disability consistently sinks my GPA, which is 3.29 right now. Still, I have a great list of colleges and I would love to go to any of them.

University of Tennessee at Chattanooga—Safety
Sweet Briar College—Match
Hendrix College—Low Reach
Hiram College—Match
Agnes Scott College—Match
Mt. Holyoke College—Reach
Smith College—High Reach
Bates College—High Reach

:D

That’s great! You have a good mix of reaches/matches etc :]

And definitely want to apply to places you can see yourself going. I wouldn’t be as happy to go to Syracuse U or Penn State…but I’m sure everything else would just fade once I was there :P

Well I wish you the best of luck, and thanks for the replies!

40% of the class at the ivies are hooked, so there are many kids with less than stellar stats already at these schools:)

Oh. That makes me a little more hopeful, then

Anyone else?

What’s your hook?

Hook? Well. It all depends on your opinion, really. I don’t play the oboe and I haven’t gone to Nicaragua to build churches and schools and save the children. I can’t pay full tuition etc etc. I don’t have a hook, so to speak.

I’m just me, I have my personality, I have my love of learning, I have my dreams and my aspirations, and most importantly…I have the pen and paper and the ability to convey these things to the admissions board.

I suppose I’m weak in that way. But I don’t see it as a flaw. I suppose I’ll roll the dice…and know that I’ll be happy whether I roll a lucky 7 or snake eyes. Either way…I know that I have been myself instead of doing something for the sake of selling out…and that is the most important thing that this college process has taught me…don’t become someone you aren’t just to impress others…

I know that beats around the bush a bit. Bluntly, I don’t have a hook off of the top of my head.

Maybe that I’m left handed. Or, maybe that I’m Jewish. Who knows?

applauds
