Just found out about Emory - interested, now can I get merit aid?

With a 2200 SAT (C: 750, M: 680, W: 770) and a good high school GPA (3.9 UW), could I get some serious merit aid at Emory? I've read a lot about the school and I like what I've heard.

BTW, I'm an accomplished pianist (played for over twelve years), military experience (attended boot camp and SEAL trainings) and a few other dedicated extracurriculars.

What do you think? Can I get a full ride? Will Emory also consider my SAT IIs (IIc 750, Lit 750)?

Thanks for your input.

i dont see a full ride, but you will definetly get some major scholarships. A couple kids around here with simliar stats got like nearly half their Emory tuition payed through emory scholarships and others.

if you want a full ride somewhere look at Oxford Emory, you'll def. get close to a full ride there

ps:how old are you and how did you attend SEAL training?

17; I'm part of the United States Naval Sea Cadet Corps, and they arrange for training for interested youth with the military. However, SEAL training with the USNSCC is only two weeks, as opposed to the SEAL's typically eight to twelve week camp.

What would I need to do to get Emory Scholars?

for emory scholars you would need greater than 1500 on your SAT to even have a chance. Your GPA falls within range and you EC's look good enough but it's just that SAT. But those are just the statistics, your great EC's may outweigh your SAT, maybe someone else could back me up?

So you think someone with those stats is automatically in? Those are about the same as mine (3.9 UW and 2290), and I consider Emory to be a reach.

Why in the world would you consider Emory a reach with a 2290?

haha yeh ur basically in unless you have no EC's

keep in mind that many peopel witht hose stats got rejected cuz of lack of interest. noone is a shoein but applying emory scholars does help and it is always worth a shot. also i thinkbut could be wrong that his sat is pratically equal to an old 1500 maybe try improving math cuz someone with ur caliber academic accomplsihments def. has a chance to do this

How can I show interest other than by visiting? My parents don't want to pay for a visit until I'm admitted. I listed Emory as my second choice for national merit. What else can I do?
