i pretty much meet all of the requirements(1st gen,not much income etc),but i already applied for the nov.28 notification.....if i don't get in to the nov.28 notification, can i then apply under the care program?

I think you should contact FSU on 850/644-9699 and tell them about your situation. They have special smaller classes for CARE participants and scholarship opportunites that sound like they would be a big help to you. They will advise you what steps to take to be considered for this program.

Agreed. Give them a call...

what do you mean by "special" classes?

They have smaller sections of classes for CARE students, similar to honors courses. You have to be in the program to register for those classes.

You might want to wait and see if you just get in, and then if you don't, you can fill out the CARE info as supplementary info as a way to bolster your application.

The only student I know applying under CARE has SAT's in the 450 range and is very economically challanged. CARE is for those students who probably would NOT get in any other way, but have potential that they were not able to use due to their minority status or their finanical status or the fact there was no one prior in the family to even think about going to college. You start with summer term, you might take some college prep type classes to prepare you for the rigors of college, etc. You get special tutoring.

I suspect you are in without the need for CARE. But call and find out.

well i my opinion, its kinda like high school, they choose your classes, they provide tutoring, and then they give you tests to ensure your learning everything, landis is basically on lockdown during the summer, and if you dont get a certain gpa they give you the boot..atleast thats what i heard, i wasn't in the care program so this is just from word of mouth. i don't know if your a minority but most of the people i saw who were in care with african american or hispanic.

yea,I'm Hispanic.Doesn't sound like i get too much freedom,though.
