I've already made my decision: I'm going to Clarkson University for financial purposes, but I might change my mind and end up somewhere else. So, just to feel some regret for not having selected Rochester Institute of Technology as my school of choice, tell me about it. What is it like compared to Clarkson? How's the campus? Is it beautiful? How are the classes? How's life outside of campus? And so on and so forth...

I think I've posted this thread under the wrong category... sorry! Please move this thread to where it belongs, Mods!

RIT is a pretty good tech school, but its huge. HUGE. So... many... men... in... one... place.

The campus is ugly, doctor's office styled. The surrounding area is pretty bleak and the inner city of Rochester is somewhere you only want to be when the sun is bright.

The dorms are microscopic, so be prepared for a tight fit.

My brother's experience with the place is that the faculty are generally disinterested in the individual student because of how many there are. It is also very difficult to communicate with the offices for all issues.

Granted these negatives, it is a very progressive tech school on the up. They are continually expanding, adding a whole new square of merchants etc. for student use and constantly adding new majors and programs. I hope some of this background info is helpful.

Right now I have RIT as a safe school for when I apply next year.

Thanks Fetou for your opinion!
