I have not yet heard from NYU Steinhardt, but I tried the link suggested and was given an ID and was able to go all the way through registering until the very end where I was unable to gain complete access. Does this mean what I think it does?

Hi,

I received my acceptance email yesterday for NYU - Music Business Graduate Program! I am very excited…I am 21 years old and from London and would love to talk with other people who have been accepted/going to accept a place on the course

See you in September!

Hello All - I received an acceptance email the other day as well. Good luck to everyone who will accept and those who are still waiting to hear back.

I was accepted as well! I am from NYC, so if anyone would like a tour or a night on the town, I’ll be more than happy to show you guys around. Send me a private message with your emails if you’re interested! BritishMusicFan, it is good to know someone else fairly young considering the average age of an NYU Steinhardt grad student is 28…congratulations everyone, I’m so excited!

I tried to create my NYU ID (haven’t heard yet) and it worked…Does that mean I’m in? But how do they know I am going to say yes? Do they give a net ID to all accepted students?

I’d like to find out myself…is there anybody else that knows if you are registered with an NYU net id that you are indeed accepted?

Hi Everyone! I’m anxiously awaiting a response from Steinhardt as well, although I did not apply early decision. I tried the link provided on page 7 and it worked for me, although I’m trying to not get my hopes up. My stats are a 3.5 overall GPA, 3.8 Music Industry GPA with a minor in Business Communications. My letters of recommendation were submitted by an alumni of the program and an executive at Sony Music. I am the business director for my school radio station where I am also a DJ. I am the president of my sorority, am the public relations chair for an honor society, did an internship at Sony, held jobs throughout my college career, and am a member of several music charities. Does anyone think these activities are good enough? I’m so nervous!

I applied back in December for Phd in Ed…I should know SOMETHING by now, shouldn’t I???

Your stats sound fantastic! Good luck!

Hey Guys. I applied for the Feb 1st, 2011 deadline. Has anybody who applied for that deadline been accepted yet? also, I tried the link above and was able to completely register. Does that mean anything?

I applied for the Feb. 1st deadline as well, and I haven’t heard anything. I talked to some Steinhardt reps a few weeks ago at a convention, and they said I should know something by late March.

I tried the link and registered as well. Not getting my hopes up as it’s possible they create a username for every applicant and limit access pending acceptance. I’d like to think it means we’re in though!

I’d like to think so too man. Good luck. Lol

I auditioned for a Master of Music in Voice Performance - Musical Theatre at Steinhardt on February 5th. I’m still waiting to hear either way :(

Seems like everyone in this forum is looking for info regarding the Music Business program. Has anyone applied for their MMusic and heard back yet? I called Steinhardt on Monday and they told me that they had sent out the letters already.

Do they send rejections by email??

Sent from my T-Mobile G2 using CC App

i attended an open house for the PhD (education) at Steinhardt and they said acceptance letters are mailed mid to late March…(four months after applications due!!!)

Oh my goodness. Thanks for that! It helps ease the anxiety just a little Good luck to you!

Being registered with a net ID does not mean your accepted. All applicants get one.

to BMusedAboutMMus

I applied for MM in piano performance. Audition on 2/26 and got my acceptance letter few days ago. Going to see if they will send me any financial letter even though it is not mentioned in the package that there will be more letters coming … but looks like from the past discussion, there will be (?)

I am waiting to hear back from Masters of Performing Arts Administration. Has anyone heard back about that one?

Also, it says that interviews are by invitation only. Did anyone get invited to an interview? I didn’t :(

Hello!

I’m an undergraduate student at a private university in Texas. I am going to apply to graduate schools in the fall and I want to know more about admissions for NYU (graduating may 2012). Time goes by fast so I want to be ready! here it goes:

My goal is to be accepted into the Educational Leadership, Politics and Advocacy (ELPA-MA) - Master of Arts Program. I am majoring in bilingual education with a minor in philosophy. 3.6 overall gpa/3.8 major gpa
I have been president of 2 organizations at my school and I have worked in the U.S attorneys office for almost 2 years now. I know a lot of other graduate programs don’t accept students right after getting their bachelors, but I have not read any requirement for teaching/job experience before applying to the program. (please correct me if I’m wrong)I’m a first generation college student and will be the first person in my family to attend graduate school so I need as much advice from other sources as I can get. Thank you!
