Just got Acceptance Email into NYU

Got into Stern! I received both e-mails; the travel plans a few days ago and the acceptance yesterday.

This is the worst acceptance notification system and I am speaking as the parent of a student who has been accepted!

anybody get the email today?

yes finally!

i thought i was rejected to nyu, didn’t get the travel email… but i found a special admittance email today (around 2:30) to cas!

congrats! hopefully they send out more monday… but i am especially happy to see you didn’t get the travel email… i still have hope! sort of lmao

i got the travel plans email (though i disregarded it, deleted it, & had to go into my trash to get it) & got the acceptance email on Thursday (March 25th) afternoon. I applied to Tisch for film, but there’s no school listed in the email.

I THINK NYU has a program where instead of accepting you into the film program you can do a liberal studies major for the first year, make up some time over the summer, and then come back that September as a full-fledged sophomore film student–I can have that very wrong though.

If I wasn’t accepted into Tisch, but into an alternative program like that instead, do you think it would have been stated in the email, or maybe would I have gotten a different email instead?

I just wish it said specifically that I was accepted to Tisch’s film program.

Alright, I’m a bit confused. I believe I got the travel plans email some time around 3/15 or so. But correct me if I’m wrong, is the travel plans email the one that talks about the dates to visit, i.e. April 9 - 11 or something? I also disregarded it and deleted it.

I haven’t recieved anything in terms of acceptance yet, but if someone could answer my question above, I’d really appreciate it. I’m so on edge! Thanks!

I got an acceptance letter to Stern a few days ago, but I’m probably heading to my first choice (Cornell) for various reasons.

menatarin, I think there was an email sent out to everyone early in March to let people know the dates for the acceptance. Another email was sent that said “this was sent to a select few applicants” and it stated that you should start making travel plans to go to the accepted students weekend. If you received the latter travel plans email then you’re accepted.

The last email is the official acceptance email. Hope that helps. Also, they started sending packages on Friday.

And Islander4!! Congratulations dude! Awesome choices :D

Question:

Was the “travel plans” email only sent to applicants / acceptees that aren’t in driving distance from NYU? Or was it sent to anyone, regardless of proximity to New York?

Thanks!

@Islander4: How do you know if you got accepted to Cornell? Early Writes?

I still did not receive my decision from NYU…no email no nothing. (I’m international)

oh well.

(Reenieg) yes, I recieved the acceptance email, but did not recieve the travel plans. What does that mean?

I live on one of the western counties of Long Island and I received that e-mail before the acceptance.

I was one of the few rolling admissions folks.

I’m international and haven’t received anything yet… Keeping my fingers crossed but I have a very strong feeling it means I won’t get in. Congrats to all who did

On the website of the Tisch School it says notification will be by mail not email. Anybody here heard from Tisch by email or mail?

We heard about Tisch through the NYU notification – both my email and mail. The email said nothing about Tisch, but the letter in the packet did.

So it sounds like the Tisch responses are all out then. Still no word email or otherwise for my son so I assume it is not good news to come in the mail. Oh well.

Reading over these posts, I have yet to see anyone post that they have received any form of confirmation that they have been accepted to Steinhardt for the media, culture, and communications major, only Jazz and others that require a portfolio/ audition. . That means I still got hope, right?

Any information would be great.

Monsterrudy, I also applied to MCC and have not received an acceptance or rejection. Still, if you go to the NYU 2014 group on Facebook, there are a few, not much, students that have already been accepted to our major. They’re mostly girls but there are SOME boys. But it wasn’t a LARGE amount or anything that I saw, so we still have hope. We’ll probably be notified tomorrow - I hope!

I’m not sure if that makes me feel any better or not, haha. But I guess we’ll just have to wait until tomorrow. There’s not much I can do but stay positive. The best of luck to you !
