I just was accepted to UNC as a sophomore transfer and am almost positive this will be where im going next year. A major concern of mine is the nightlife at the school, because of course i like to have a great time. I have heard UNC has a good bar scene, but i am wondering if nightlife is dominated by greek life. Is it possible to have a good time at this school without being in a fraternity? I'm not against greek life, and am definitely considering it, but im just wondering how prevalent it is on campus. If i were to go greek are fraternities open to accepting transfer students? and how difficult is the pledging and the process of actually getting in.

If anyone could help me out that'd be great. Thanks

Thanks its good to hear that. Where would you recommend a sophomore transfer live? I’d like to be somewhere that I can have my own bedroom, apartment style living, if possible.

Ram Village is the preferred on campus apartment community, but I’m not sure if it’s easy to get a room there as a transfer. There is an LLC called Transfer United specifically for transfers in Ram Village that you might want to consider. Odum Village is the other option for on campus apartments. They are older and not as nice or close to campus, but I believe there are a good number of transfers there. Otherwise, a few places closer to campus are probably still leasing.
