Also, my uncle works at the State House and knows the Chairman of the Board of Trustees for Georgetown in New England, so he should help me.

thanks again for taking a look, be as brutal as you want.

Your G.P.A is low for Georgetown standards, but your extra curriculars and everything else looks really good. I’d say it’s a reach, but your connection might help you. From prior experience, I had a friend apply and she didn’t get in. She graduated in top 20% of her class and like a 3.9.

I would say that you have a 99% chance of being deferred for early action. You probably have about a 3% chance of getting in regular decision. Your GPA is far to low, and your score are avg. plus you don’t even have SAT II’s yet. Your ec’s are generic and nothing special and your connection won’t help you very much if at all. And yes, you can send 3 rec’s as long as they are different subjects and cover different aspects. I did a coach and 2 teachers.

you said to be honest. i was blunt…

The above responses are pretty honest and no holds barred.
You are to be commended on your accomplishments, which are manifest and would be sufficient for most normal schools, but Georgetown is not normal when it comes to admissions; it’s brutal. Your connection may or may not be able to help; I can’t assess that. But without it, I would say your chances are poor.

i didn’t mention that i am in the 10% of my class… does that help anything?

if it’s still a no, how do you think i hold up against Boston College?

Top 10% is nice, but I don’t think it will change the odds much.

Boston College is excellent, and not nearly as brutal as GU admissions-wise. I think you’ve got a solid shot.

Try both. You can apply to both schools EA.
