Mary VanArsdale called me from ILR and informed me that I got accepted off the waitlist. :D This is so very exciting for me. I supposedly get my financial aid package on Monday and I have 24 hours to decide. This is just incredible.

how? it says waitlist decisions will NOT be made before may 1st

congrats, doesn anyone know if CAS started looking at their waitlist?

holy crap I really gotta finish my letter now!!!

maybe they really meant to admit you before , and made a mistake waitlisting u

... i mean putting you on a waitlist and deciding before people send in a deposit is illogical

dude...its common to start waitlist before May 1....they have heard bafck from a # of students already

I agree, it sounds wierd! My best friend is waitlisted at Cornell and our advisor told her NO WAY before May 1st will know anything and our school has an excellent repore with Cornell, like 8 kids from our class are going there this year, there must be more to the story!

If he was really taken off the waitlist this early, that means A LOT of people must have already responded declining the offer.

I honestly have no idea. I didn't even expect to get accepted off the wait list so this random call out of no where today was really a surprise.

congratulations!!! ILR is an incredible school, it's quite an accomplishment?

Are you planning to enroll?

you have to make a decision within 24 hours...dayyyyum

just flip a coin:

Heads = Cornell

Tails = Cornell

...this should be fair.

do other colleges also give 24 hours for accepting/decling acceptance offer off from waitlist?

Yikes--pretty quick turnaround for a decision. I've also seen Duke letting kids in off wl already. Must be they can project lower yield than they expected even for this date. My d just declined CALs so there will be some.

Duke has spots available?????maybe, that means they got some transfer room lol

check the duke threads. A couple of kids got in off WL on Thursday & Friday.

Are you planning to enroll?
Yes. I'm very excited about this. :D

Are u sure it wasn't a prank?

Well she even gave me her cell phone number to contact her so I'm pretty sure it's legit.

tun- Congrats my d is soph in ILR and loves it! Don't listen to these guys- I am sure your contact with ILR is legit. ILR is a much smaller program than CAS, CALS, and some of the other colleges. I believe they take less than 200 freshmen. So they probably have a much better handle on their admission #'s. Since it is such a specialized school, I would think many of the kids who decided to go elsewhere already contacted ILR. So ILR should KNOW how many spots they have available. (We're from LI too!!). Good luck- You are going to love Cornell!!

tun did u send them a letter or anything?
