Just got in off Waitlist

Obviously no school meets their target. Then there would be no waitlist.
What i meant he said was, they didn’t meet their secret, calculated expected number of matriculators. seUnconfirmed, but does anyone know if washu usually starts taking waitlistees before may 1st?

some admitted students didn’t get their full financial need met this year, so I don’t see how a university can give aid to waitlisters when some enrolling students still need a few thousand dollars each in order to have their full need met.

“Full financial need” - according to who’s calculations?

i was actually very surprised because even off the waitlist, wash u gave me better financial aid than all of the schools that accepted originally. part of it was a merit/need based scholarship, though, which doesn’t really make sense to me because i feel like those would only be given to people qualified enough to be accepted in the first round.

Never look a gift horse in the mouth - or as they say - take the money and run.

I’m on the waitlist and if I want to send a letter to the admissions office, should I just send it to admissions@wustl.edu?

^ Correct. Your admissions processor will then place it in your file for review.

i faxed my letter…should email the same thing??

I sent it according to my last name’s letter, will that be fine?

Did anyone get any calls this week? I’m trying to see when the 2nd round of calls would be.

I got the call on Friday (may 1st) that I was off the waitlist, and the lady I spoke to told me they would mail me an addmissions packet. Anyone have any idea when I can expect to get this in the mail?

wis3ly - soon - It will be an ongoing process as the answers from the previous round are received.

^^Thanks! I’m super anxious as you can see. I hope I can get off the waitlist!

^^^ me,too I’m waiting for Umich also…2 waitlist…accepted in UIUC computer science but still WUSTL is always my first choice…so nervous and anxious…

I’m waiting on Michigan too!!

“The wait list is still active, but we are currently in a bit of a holding pattern to see if we will be able to make additional offers of admission. We appreciate your patience and we will certainly update you as soon as we have a definitive answer either way.”

doesn’t sound too good =S

Didn’t someone say earlier that there will be at least 1 or 2 rounds?

Those are the words of an adcom…
The “holding pattern” indicates that the first round is over…lets hope they will start round 2 soon =S but this will only happen if there are any spots left =S

so you are saying right now the adcoms don’t know if there’s going to be another round? Don’t the first round people have to reply by today (a week from last Friday)?

^I guess so. I am not an expert at this lol I am just trying to analyze the adcom’s words (probably over analyzing)
“to see if we will be able to make additional offers of admission” so ya it does seem like the response of the people from the first round will be one of the determining factors…I am sure they are still in the process of receiving the May 1st postmarked papers…
