Just got in off Waitlist

ST2, what is your source? Do you have a URL?

I guess this means WashU’s yield this year was pretty good?

I got the same email. Believe it. We’re members of the Parent Council. I’m sorry…

Wait List Update
Students who were admitted to the fall 2009 class had until May 1 to accept our offer of admission. Our freshman class is now full, making it very unlikely that we will be able to admit additional students. All students on the Wait List will hear from us by late June (at the very latest) with a final word on their Wait List status. As always, if there are students we are unable to admit, we would be happy to work with those students on the transfer process after a semester or year of college elsewhere. Students are welcome to call the Office of Undergraduate Admissions at (800) 638-0700 with any questions.

So I didn’t get the rejection email (though I got it from Columbia, which I was also waitlisted at) does this mean I have a good chance of getting the accepted email by late may/early june, or are the rejections just going out in waves, and for some reason, mine hasn’t come up yet?

Those are rejection emails, are they? I thought they’re just updates for the parent council members, not even sent to the waitlstees

I don’t think those are rejection e-mails. I guess we’ll have to wait until June for them.

The above were not copies of rejection e-mails. They were copies of updates sent out to WashU council members. They were posted for information only.

So waitlistees recieved nothing. Also, they filled the class in one round? isnt that rare?

Yes it is rare, but it does happen. Predicting acceptance rates is an art not a science. Sometimes you can and other times projections are not quite on. There will still be some individual fill ins - but that is about it.

^when can we expect them to notify individual fill ins? can we expect it around this time or more towards the end of the summer??

Now it all depends on “summer melt” and that is not easy to predict.

S received rejection letter today via the US postal service - addressed to “Dear Student”. WUSTL was not a high priority for him, so no hard feelings. We’re in Maryland, if that matters to anyone.

I just got the same rejection letter today. I was still hopeful, but at the same time, I kind of had a feeling this would happen. It’s kind of nice to finally be able to close one my door. And I’m still on two waitlists, so cross your fingers! :P

i got a rejection today as well.
I am from IL.
