Hi, I’m currently a rising junior and I just got my AP World score back… I got a 2. I’m really upset, I studied 2 months for this exam and I really wanted a 4. My dream school is Colgate University and they don’t take credit for AP world but will this still ruin my chances?

I will be applying ED to Colgate University. Are my chances ruined because of that 2 on AP World?
I agree with @CaliCash. It’s no big deal what’s so ever. You can choose not to report it if you apply via common app anyways. Best of luck with Colgate University!
No, your chances aren’t diminished in the least bit. College admissions don’t care what you got on those AP tests. In fact, if Colgate doesn’t even accept AP World score, then you shouldn’t even send them.
AP’s are not a huge deal in college admissions and no college will turn down a good student because of one bad AP score. If you are really worried about it, you could look into having your test re-scored or even re-taking the test.
I would be interested to know how you decided and now assert your point about 33/93 making Colgate ED a sure thing and therefore not worth the underlying commitment to attend- relative to other admission opportunities.
I didn’t say it’s a sure thing, was that applying ED to Colgate with those numbers is selling himself short. Meaning he might be passing up some other/better opportunities.
Hello everyone
I am a rising senior who will be applying to Yale early action this fall 2015 for the class of 2020. I am worried because on my AP Exams i got one four and two threes. How much will this hurt my chances and should I report them to Yale?
Thank you!
I assume that the applicant knows what factors other than the 2 cited relative to what he/she finds desirable about Colgate might or might not encourage the ED choice. After all, ED is a one chance opportunity and one that has ready advantages for the applicant.
If, for example, the campus visit to this magnificent campus, meetings with particular faculty, expectation of a beneficial financial aid package, the opportunities afforded by the Career Planning Center, or certain off-campus study make Colgate the applicant’s first choice- which apparently it is already- then why suggest that there are “other/better” opportunities? This is anything but a numbers game. But that said, if you have some specific recommendations, I am sure the applicant would be interested to hear where you think his/her ED application should be filed.
