Just got my housing contract....

How do you pick a meal plan and purchase it? I can’t seem to find the website.

Markley is the best. MoJo is boring and lame. Alot of freshman socialize with people they live near. Markley is the place to be. You all are lucky.

kewlioto - all dorms are considered ‘substance free’ but it doesn’t mean partying isn’t going on

toomuchpressure - go to your umich email, and open the email for housing, and then there’s a link like ‘pick your meal plan here’

aw, seems like you’re going to have a blast there. I got put on the hill as well, alice llyod hall i believe. I wonder if it’s any good.

@tuningin21 - I’m pretty sure that it’s not true that all dorms are substance free. If that were the case, why would they ask if you prefer substance free housing ?

BAITS HERE. sigh

i’m not 100% positive, but what i think i was asked if i smoked or not. and then it was like ‘even if you do, all dorms are substance free’ blah blah. but i dont know for sure

Nybody know about the quads?

@tuningin I meant that substance free option thats even stricter - not the general policy of no drugs/alcohol. i cant remember the exact contract, but its like no paraphernalia, posters, etc

I’m in South Quad, thanks to Honors Housing

I lived in South Quad last year thanks to Honors, and I loved it, so I’m living there again next year. It’s a pretty big dorm, mostly honors and athletes, although I met some freshmen who were neither. It’s really close to everything which is nice, especially when you’re late to class. It’s also right across the street from the union, which is nice when you want non-dining hall food and don’t want to walk out in the rain or cold. We also have the ninth floor which is a huge computer/lounge area. A lot of people i know used it to study late at night so they didn’t have to walk back from the libraries, although it can be packed then.

As for the other quads, West Quad is right across the street from south, and connected the union, which is nice. South and West quad traditionally battle during the first big snowfall of the year :)

I don’t know too much about east quad, except i stayed there for orientation. It’s alright, but the food’s not great.

But I think orientation is actually held at south quad this year, so if you haven’t been to orientation yet, you’ll probably stay in south quad and see what it’s like.
