Just got my SAT scores......chances??

Hey I just got my Sat scores. I have a 3.5 weighted GPA and i go to a pretty intense college prep school in Pennsylvania. I take AP English AP US History now and I'm taking AP English and AP Psych next year. I do four to five plays each year and have had a job at a supermarket year round since freshman year. I also ran track sophomore year and was the manager junior year. I also have written for the school newspaper since freshman year.
Math 570
Reading 680
Writing 750

1250/2000 Total

Any chance at Rhodes, Elon, Charleston, Chapman, Loyola Marymount, Vanderbilt, Penn State University Park, Goucher or Wagner?? I want to double major in theater and communications.

Thanks!

^The school newspaper, some school plays, 3.5 Weighted GPA, and 2000 SAT are not likely to result in a postive admission outcome at Vanderbilt.

I would consider you as a high reach for Vanderbilt.

I am not as familiar with the admission tendencies at your other schools of interest.

I have some homework for you: use the college board or other site to see how your stats compare the the middel 50% of stats at those schools. That’ll give you an initial idea of how each of these schools fit into the reach/match/safety categories.

For example, mid 50% for Elon is this:
CR: 560-650 - you’re in the top 25%
Math: 560-660 - you’re well below the mean
Writing: 560-660 - you’re well inot the top 25% (good communication skills?)

For Vanderbilt you’re solidly in the bottom 25%, just looking at stats w/o your ECs . . means you’re a reach there.

Good luck!!!

Have you taken the ACT? That SAT is mildly impressive, but a weighted GPA of 3.5 is not, it’ll end up hurting you.

Vandy: High reach
LMU, Chapman, Elon: Reach
College of Charleston, Penn State: Target

I don’t know too much about the rest. As long as you’re looking at theater and comm, have you read up on Emerson? It’d be a high target with your numbers, but it’s got exactly what you’re looking for. Good luck!
