In the mail I received a Pitt application. So I wasnt 100% planning on applying but I figured what the heck I could just throw one out to them. So I looked online and it doesn't look like you can apply online....so do I just fill it out by hand and send it in?

https://www.admissions.pitt.edu/freshapp/freshman.asp

I’m not sure if you can apply yet… perhaps someone else knows? Or you could contact them?

Oh I was just talking about planning ahead. Like if they didn’t do online applications I could fill out my application right now and have it done to eventually send in. But thank you for the link nevermind haha

sorrry for adding onto this but ii had a quick question: when exactly do u apply to pitt?

You can apply now if you have the application. If you take one of their scheduled tours, you can fill out the application and hand it in. You just have to have your transcript and SAT/ACT scores to them.

Apply early! You can apply in the summer, and you’ll probably have a better chance of getting in.

if i apply early and get accepted, do i have to reply back ASAP or can i wait till like may/june to make my decision.

You can wait :)

adding on…srry
i have a sat superscore of 1910 (CR: 610, Math: 680, Writing: 620) and my weighted gpa is a 4.0 (significant upward trend) w/ 6 ap’s completed at the end of junior year and signed up for 5 more next year. i took a subject test in math level 1 (680) and us history (780) and i have an internship and volunteer hours.
should i wait for the next SAT and retake and apply or should i apply early (like in 2 weeks) and hope i get in. please help!

edit: oh and also i got a 28 on the ACT

If you think you have a good chance of improving your SAT score, I would probably retake and then apply. It is still early yet in the application process. Is your high school prepared to send your transcript this early? If not, then your application is not going to be reviewed until Admissions received that anyways. The better your test scores and GPA are, the more chance of possible scholarship money.

^^^
I disagree.
I would apply now and re-submit any new (improved) SAT / ACT scores when/if they become available. I think your GPA and SAT/ACT scores are already good enough to get you admitted to any of Pitt’s colleges (other than some professional guarantees). Get accepted first (now) worry about merit scholarships AFTER your stats qualify you for one. Good luck.

but would my application still be in review until i retake my SATs? i thought if i apply sometime soon, i would get my decision in 2-3 weeks and that would not be enough to retake my SATs.
btw im planning on applying to the college of arts and sciences at the main campus

^^
If you applied to Pitt now (and submitted your current SAT/ACT/transcript) you could receive a decision as early as the end of September / beginning of October. Unless something has changed from last year Pitt does not begin reviewing applications until September. I’m not sure why you would consider waiting?

do you think it would be feasible/appropriate to simply write down the SAT date that i plan to take on the application and leave the scores blank. do you think this would indicate to the reader that i plan to retake my SAT or is what i just said stupid?

^^^
Why would you want to do that? Why don’t you submit the scores you currently have?

What happened to your 2020 SAT?
