Just Got This Email from CU...

I just need help kind of deciphering this email. I don't know it is was a mass email sent out to everyone or sent sort of personally to a select group of applicants. If anyone knows what it means it'd be much appreciated. My GPA was around a 3.7 and I had a 33 ACT FWIW. Thanks.

I didn’t get one, so maybe it was a mass email to select students? Have you been accepted yet?

Nah I haven’t haha. But i just called up and they said I was one of their top applicants. Kind of doubting that though cause my scores weren’t all that impressive for being a “top applicant”.

I was accepted already with lower stats.

I got the same email, i think top applicant means you were in the top 20% of accepted students, IDK what the point of that email is tho

Really? Well yeah I haven’t even been admitted yet so its just strange haha. It’d be very interested in CU if I got invited into the Honors program.

CU is behind on ER applications, so any information being released about scholarships and the honors program will probably be delayed. From what they have seen so far, however, the email might be an indication that you could be getting an invite to the Honors Program. I’m sure with your stats that you’ll be invited to join the Honors Program or any other academic programs.

Nice. Nmcm aren’t you applying to Umich too? Thought I saw you over there on that thread as well.

Ha, ya I did apply to UM and I was deferred. It’s not too big of a deal for me because UM is expensive. Colorado has a great physics program, is less expensive as an OOS student and Boulder is a great area, especially for college. Did you hear back from UM, ckl22? I haven’t been on the board for a while.

Yeah I was deferred too but still got a pretty good shot cause I’m getting recruited by the men’s lacrosse coach and apparently they defer most of his recruits and eventual accept lots of them later on. But yeah I want to do something with Journalism and the environment, two areas which CU is excellent in. Infact they have a school for Envi. Journalism. Also CU, being in Boulder is a sick location, Aspen is close by, good lacrosse team…so I could def. see myself being happy at CU.
