Just got UCSC Regents..what should I do?

I just got notified that I was awarded, but my financial aid page hasn't changed as far as I can tell, they're still budgeting me for several grand in student loans.

Is it possible that Regents is just accounted for in their B&G opportunity plan, and so they withdrew a UCSC grant I was getting anyway and replacing it with the Regents?

Also, god now I have to decide between UCSC with regents and UCLA without regents :( Tough.

Where do you WANT to go/how important is the Finacial aid to you? If you really want to go to UCLA, then I’m sure you’ll find a way to make it happen. On another note- Congratz! Guess its time to weigh the pros/cons. :)

I really don’t have much school spirit or care about the campus life or anything. But if UCLA will be that much more competitive for jobs, or that much better at getting me into grad school then that’s important to me right now.

But if a grad school is just gonna look at a gpa and I can do it at UCSC for 10k cheaper that is a tempting deal.

If you plan on going to grad school then it really doesn’t matter where you finish your undergrad, unless you’re doing some special thing like BusEcon/BusAdmin at Berkeley or something. Otherwise, just keep your GPA up. :)

Does anyone know about the interaction of Regents and Blue&Gold? Will it replace the normal school grant I was getting, or just count further as financial aid and reduce the amount of loans I will need?
