Hello, so i just graduated highschool and i want to apply for FIT or Parsons.
I want to study Fashion Design.
I was wondering if I have to take my sats to apply to these schools
and I know that FIT has a precollege program for middle school and highschool students i believe to help them create portfolios and prepare them for these schools.
i don't know how to sew or anything so i was wondering if i will be able to take these classes as well even though i'm neither a middle school or high school student.

and do you also have to have a high gpa to get into these schools ?

If you just graduated highschool, you’re going for 2013 fall semester I’m guessing?
FIT doesn’t require you to take your SAT but you have to send in for your other courses like math etc. Parsons does require you to send your SAT. There average requirement was around 1600~. GPA does matter too. FIT requires you have over 3.0 GPA and Parsons is about the same. But of course your portfolio is what matters into getting in. That being said, it seems like you don’t have a portfolio or have any experience in fashion design. I have a feeling fashion design is just something you want to do without any hands on work of doing and creating. I should caution you that these schools are hard to get into with competition. People who’ve took courses over the years, people who knew how to sew years ago and stuff like that.

It’s not too late start tho.
