Just had my Cornell interview today!

<p>Hey guys I just had my ILR interview today and wanted to share some info :)
First, the weather was very bad,,hard rain.
My interviewer Ian Schachner was very down to earth, but I was still very nervous because I saw him constantly writing somethin as I was speaking.
Since he didn't have my application with him he asked me to tell him about myself (although this could just be his routine) so I talked a little bit about my years after high school graduation.
We talked about almost everything,,mainly about my experiences but now that i come to think of it I feel like maybe i talked too much...??
well, anyhow, I asked him about the decision letters.
Unlike many of the news on some of the Cornell threads, the transfer decision letters won't be mailed till end of April.
There are still many students completing their application, especially with sending in mid-term grades and according to him some of them don;t even finish it until early may.
So i guess we still have more time!
By the way for those of you who had the ILR interview already, how long was yours?
when i read some of the old threads from last year they said it was about 30 mins but mine was more like 50mins. I kinda felt sorry for the person after me who had been waiting even before my arrival,,but oh well.
Anyhow, I hope I did well and wish good luck to everyone else too!!</p>

<p>Mine was about 25 minutes. It was by phone, with Ian as well. He asked the routine questions and cut me off in the middle of the “tell me about yourself” question haha (I manage to incorporate the info I wanted to share in other questions though)</p>

<p>Not my best interview. Hate phone convos.</p>

<p>I knew I was going to mess up even more if i did the phone interview too. i guess traveling 6 hrs was not a bad idea at least, lol
but goddessxx, i’m pretty sure u did fine cause i was going all over the place :(</p>

<p>Mine was about 40 minutes. Btw, I did it in person rather than on phone. His questions mostly revolve around why I am interested in ILR, my academic performance and my extracurricular activities. </p>

<p>No worry guys, I feel I talked too much and jumped all over the place as well, though all my responses are all relevant to the questions asked. I think the majority of us did the same thing as everyone wants to take advantage of this interview to demonstrate their unshown qualities and experiences.</p>

<p>I wonder how long is your Q&A Session? Cuz I feel my Q&A session lasted for 15 mins.</p>

<p>Good luck everyone, I hope I could meet all CCers @ ILR next year :></p>
