Life sucks :( I'll never get into JHU now.

stop feeling so bad ur gpa is exceptionally high =D

No its not. Its a 3.3, because of my freshmen year though.

ok...now i'm confused...how does jhu calculate our gpa? Like does it count sophmore honors english w/ weighted pts or does it only count the honors that the ucs approve? Or do they only count ap classes in their weighted scale? Do they calculate freshmen gpa into the cummulativie gpa when looking at its applicants?...i'm soo confused now that this is again brought up...

Sometimes I should really follow my own advice. When I started answering questions and correcting the misinformation about Johns Hopkins on College Confidential, I set myself three rules:

(1) Never comment on chances threads - they are ridiculous anyway.
(2) Never respond to rude, offensive, or immature posts - just ask the moderators to remove the post.
(3) Never get into a debate about how the admissions process works.

It is this 3rd point that I forgot when I initially posted on this thread. Now I will heed my advice and make this my final response.

Just understand a few things...

(A.) You can believe what you want...I speak from nearly 10 years of experience. I believe in a transparent approach to the admissions process and provide information as it is...this is not some marketing message for me. I post on College Confidential to clear up confusion and correct misinformation. I don't need to do this.

(B.) Less than 5% (probably closer to 1%) of the Johns Hopkins applicant pool post on College Confidential. Making assumptions about the applicant pool and how decisions are made on such a small % of our pool is ridiculous. The CC population in no one is parallel to the overall applicant population, and unfortunately few of you understand that.

(C.) I have stated our holistic approach to reading applications more than enough on CC and on the Hopkins Insider blog -- do some research and you will find my thoughts. I will state it one last time -- standardized exams do matter but they are not the determining factor on how we read applications. Don't believe me if you want, but honestly my job would be a whole lot easier if we did just judge every applicant on their test scores. If that was the case though, I'd leave the profession.

I am done...I am going back to more important things...actually reading applications and not defending the way it is done.
