just one question...

would being an asian-american from the northeast help me out at all.... or would it be a disadvantage?

also this is just a general question but would it be bad if i took the SATs at October of my senior year?

It depends on which part of Asia your parents are from. Koreans, Japanese, and Chinese are not included in the underrepresented minorities. But, South and Southeastern Asians are. The timing of SAT doesn't matter a whole lot as long as you can meet the deadline.

disagreed. expect scholarship offers.

I took the SAT's october of my senior year and managed to get my things in before the deadline. Scores were sent before november.

"When the eligible pool is defined to include all high school graduates, as shown in the first column, Blacks, Native Americans, and Minorities as a group are underrepresented, whereas Asians are heavily overrepresented and Hispanics are slightly overrepresented. Whites, of course, are overrepresented." --excerpt from http://www.ssc.wisc.edu/~whansen/new99_02.html.

Asians are colored, but overrepresented in most institutions. That means you might be facing double whammy.

Hispanics? overrepresented? No way.

guapocarlos, i am not familiar with this score sending process of the SATs...... if i took the SATs at October and it takes 16~17 days for the scores to be available on-line, does it mean that i can send the scores as soon as its available on-line or do i have to wait for the actual score report to come in via mail........

also if i decide to send my SAT scores through the www.collegeboard.com site electronically, does it mean that my score is sent electronically by COLLEGEBOARD to colleges or does it mean that COLLEGEBOARD will send it via MAIL as soon as they receive my electronic order on their website?

If you indicate before you take the test you would like the scores to be sent to Wisconsin, they will arrive maybe a day or 2 after they are available online. As far as I know they get a paper report for your scores. At least I know the ACT requires mailing a paper report, but I'm not toally sure for SAT, anyway they go pretty fast.
