Just out of Curiosity...

Now that corporate law seems like a risky field to enter due to the downsizing of firms, etc., I was wondering what is the next most lucrative field of law (besides patent law because I'm not into science...hence why I'm dropping pre-med)? I'm aiming for at least a T20 law school, so if I come out of a decent law school, what is the next best field to enter.

And I know I'm going to get flamed for posting this, and even though this probably won't change your mind about why I'm posting this, I'm seriously not just in it for the money, but it is a consideration.

firms pay the same amount for associates in basically all practice areas (sometimes there's a bonus for patent lawyers). So it doesn't matter.

Of course, some fields are hiring more, have more in-house opportunities, etc. But it's not reasonable, in my opinion, to try and guess about that now.
