So my school has a system where an A is a 4.0, B is 3.0, etc. No pluses or minuses. This means that when most people say they got in somewhere with a 3.8 unweighted GPA (what I have) , they might be talking about a mix of A’s and A-'s where A-s are counted as 3.6, whereas I have A’s and 4 and a half B’s (4 full credit B’s, one half credit B). Will this limit my chances to some top schools?
It is not a problem. First off that grading system is not uncommon. Secondly your HS will send a school profile that explains the grading system along with your transcript.
This grading system is very common. In fact, a lot of school systems are getting rid of pluses and minuses.
