Just recieved my FIRST ACCEPTANCE!!!!!!

Got a letter from U Pitt today, and I'm in at the main campus!!!!! I'm on top of the world!!!!!!!!!

Congrats! Is that your top choice?

I got accepted to Pitt too, although I don't think I'll go there (simply because I've lived here my whole life and would like to get out.)

Are you from PA/Pittsburgh?

Congratulations! What a nice holiday present! :)

RBase07:

Pitt is it! Good work! If you have any questions about Pitt, feel free to ask me, I am a proud alum. that is happy to help!

Kent State beat Pitt in the 2002 March Madness tourney, so BLAH!

That is all.

congrats, cherish the moment. I have a lot of friends who got accepted there and will attend this fall. Enjoy it, and remember, you earned it, no one else.

Pitt got rocked by the Utah Utes in the Fiesta Bowl last season too!

Wow... why is everyone bashing Pitt in the sports department?

Congrats!

And lol 311Griff that was kinda unnecessary.

Thanks everyone. Pitt is not my first choice, nor my safety, but an in-between match. In terms of stats, it was a match for me, but because I live in Philadelphia, PA, it was a FINANCIAL safety because of the in-state status. Truthfully, my two first choice schools are Morehouse C and U Maryland, though I am overjoyed at Pitt. Most of all, I'm glad to have a bird in hand now, and I can relax a little. But thanks everybody.

And on a side note,

Northstarmom, I really want to thank you personally. You really made this process move smoother for me. I don't know if you're aware of it or remember me from these boards, but you gave me a lot of advice. I just want to take some time to thank you. You really helped put this acceptance in my hands.

Now I gotta sleep.

RBase07:

Just a warning...do not use Pitt as a financial safety! Though it is instate, it is the most expensive 'public' school in Pa and I ran into problems with the outrageous tuition hikes each year. My final year I believe the hike was north of a 10% hike!

Might want to look into Temple for a 'true' financial safety...

Yes, RBase, I remember you well, and am very glad of your acceptance.

Now, please follow ophiolite's advice and find a real financial safety. Morehouse may not give you the aid that you need (unless you happen to be a National Achievement scholar, which probably would get you lots of aid from there) and neither may U Md.

Is there a public university in your city that you could apply to? Often a financial safety is an instate public university that you could commute to from home.
