just sent in!

has this method of finding out your admissions status worked for anyone yet?

To my knowledge, NO ONE has been admitted yet. Maybe the smaller schools have sent admit letters, but if Engineering and LSA have, it would be news to me. Chill, people.

i am done with my application!!!!
all sent in....now i'll wait....wait for the day...

30ACT/2030 770 math/640/620SAT
Engineering

I'll be sending it in tommorow.

33 ACT/4.0 uw GPA/ 6/676 class rank/in-state

Hmm new links appeared on my WolvesAccess...but i doubt that means im accpeted...they probably just updated.

2 Questions. Say you submit your application, and your SAT is on the way and your Recs are too - does that mean they're not going to process your application until everything is in?

And lastly, these batches. Since no one has gotten an acceptance from Mich, does that mean the first batch hasn't been processed yet? And that October is included into the first batch?

They won't look at your application until everything is in.

The first batch probably won't be processed until late October, when the most talented people will get accepted (the ones in the top 25% of all stats), and the majority (about 70% of the applicants) get deferred. October will likely be in the second batch, in mid-November.

how do u find out your u-mich number? i already sent an app in without putting the optional u-mich number. will one be assigned to me so that i can retrieve the decision?

if you get deferred.. does your application go into every batch? like during the second batch, does ur app get looked at again?

I don't know how quickly they look at your deferred application, my guess is, (and really this is a guess) they want to see your senior year first semester grades. So probably mid-January after they receive first semester grades they can get a decision. Someone may have a better answer than me.

The word "deferred" can be a little confusing.

In one sense, everyone who isn't admitted one week is deferred to the next week. And yes, to answer that question, every week you're not admitted, you're generally still in the pool of all the apps being considered for admission the next week, and the next week, and the week after that.

In some cases, U-M will actually send you an official "defer" letter. This may take two forms.

One defer letter is to say "We need to wait until we see your first term grades." In that case, it means that your application isn't going to continue to be in the pool of possibles; they're going to re-evaluate you after your grades are sent.

The other "defer" letter is really no different than being in the "next week" pool week after week. It simply is the University's way of saying "We know you haven't been admitted yet, and we know you're probably wondering what's going on, so we just want to let you know you're complete, you're evaluated, but we're not admitting you yet." In that case, there is nothing you need to do, except hang on and hope. Which is very hard, I know. Your status is not different from people who didn't get a defer letter, and your status isn't different than the week before when you weren't sent a letter.

They don't send this latter type of defer letter every week because it would be a waste of time and postage to do that, plus it would give students unnecessary heart attacks to get a skinny envelope. They are a courtesy, to let you know U-M hasn't forgotten about you, and they're generally only sent when the admissions process is going slowly or you've been waiting awhile.

okay that'll be nice of them. what kind of people gets accepted early? in terms of grades (not familiar wit GPA)

prolly like 32+ ACT and 3.9+ Uw gpa. i have a feeling i'm about to get deferred here, as i have 30 act, 3.9 uw gpa which is ofcourse average for u of m applicants.

2240 SAT, 3.9+ uw michigan GPA...think im safe? im a legacy too...
im really not trying to be a jerk but i really need that acceptance in the first batch ASAP

"prolly like 32+ ACT and 3.9+ Uw gpa. i have a feeling i'm about to get deferred here, as i have 30 act, 3.9 uw gpa which is ofcourse average for u of m applicants."

um, how is that average? you're at/above the 75% percentile for in-staters.

A 30 on the ACT places you in the top quartile of all U of M applicants. AND your GPA is fantastic, as well. Don't worry, Iciclerose!

actually, a 31 is now the 75th percentile.

So is it getting to be the time that all the people that applied super early are going to hear back?

when it says "application is complete" on WA does that mean they've received everything?

How do I get into wolverine access? I mean I never got a umich pin number or anything...

and how do I check if they recieved everything, such as the transcripts and sat scores? I am so confused but I want to check the status of my application.

I just submitted my application.
