Just some musing...

Hey guys--

I just got through this entire College Admissions process and am looking towards my next goal of law school. I'll be matriculating to Princeton (Class of 2014) starting next year and am looking at what kinds of things I should be doing in terms of getting myself ready. I'm looking to major in the Woodrow Wilson School (if I'm lucky to get accepted into the program) if not in Political Science. Unfortunately, we have the grade deflation policy so I'm not exactly sure how that plays out in terms of Law School Admissions.

I'd love to attend a T-14 Law School (more specifically HLS or CLS), but don't know the range GPA/LSAT I should be aiming for. What would be the target GPA/LSAT I should aim for?

4.0/180
always aim for the highest.

if early on you put yourself in the mindset that “i just have to make sure to have a 3.8,” then you might not try as hard if you aim for that 4.0 or 180. best of luck as a freshie!

Yeah, I’m not sure why or how you would aim for anything less than a 4.0/180. Would you deliberately blow off classes or skip questions?

Well I guess it really wasn’t a question of what to aim for. Just as sort of a barometer to see where I am in terms of admissions. Princeton suffers from some serious grade deflation so I find myself with a 3.7 at the end of my sophomore year, I wouldn’t know where I stand in terms of admissions.

You would probably find yourself with slim chances at Harvard, Stanford, and Yale, and strong chances at Columbia, Chicago, and NYU (and all schools ranked below them), depending on your LSAT score.

Ergh. Alright, I guess I have to aim a little higher than that then. 4.0/180 it is then. :)
