Just started applying. FREAKING OUT!!!!!!!

I just read that admission is given on a space available basis

I want to apply for computer science to LSA or ENG but I don't know if its worth it anymore

Are my chances better for LSA or ENG at this point?

Does your preferred start term affect decision? I would like to start in the summer but I don't mind starting in fall.
Will they consider you for all start terms?

Thanks

Apply to the program that you would prefer. The requirements are actually pretty different considering they’re both CS degrees. Michigan releases the vast majority of their decisions in late May or early April, so you really shouldn’t be panicked. As long as you apply before the deadline, you will be given as fair a chance as any of the other applicants who are still waiting.

I’m not sure if admission for the two terms differs at all (I highly doubt it), but I would still recommend waiting till the Fall anyways. Enjoy your last summer before college, it will give you some time to prepare as well.

I am taking a gap year so I want to start as soon as possible.

I tried to find info on the website but I couldn’t.
Are you sure your start term doesn’t affect admissions? I’d hate to ruin my chances.

@KronOmega I think you mean that they release them in late MARCH or early April.

Where did you read that?

I applied in January and was admitted for LSA and pre-admit for Ross. It’s always worth a shot.

@pat when did you receive your decision?

March 1 for LSA, April 1 for Ross PA.

I know students who applied in November/December who heard back from LSA later than me, though (mid-late March).

Look at all the programs carefully! Look at the stats of those who have been admitted to LSA and COE recently; there are threads for those on College Confidential. Overall, just try to aim for the program you have more interest in. You have plenty of time before you have to submit your app, so don’t freak out. However, the earlier you send it in, the faster you will likely get the response (usually). Good luck!

GO BLUE!! :)
