Here is my dilemma:

I got a 1970 on the May SAT (600 CR, 680 math, and 690 writing with a 10/12 essay). I plan to retake it in October but am unsure how much I will improve...hopefully my CR will be MUCH better...do you have any tips for the CR section?
My ACT was a 31 (34 English, 33 Reading, 28 Science, 29 Math, 11/12 essay).

The SAT conversion charts illustrate that my ACT converted to SAT scores are higher on the chart than my actual SAT scores. Therefore, I was wondering if it would be best to send only my ACT, or both tests. Does it look bad if you only send in one of the two tests??

Thank you for your help!

It doesn’t look bad. If your ACT is higher than your SAT (when comparing by chart), I’d just send in the ACT score.

Unfortunately, the CR score is the hardest to improve.
Not that it’s impossible! Buy the official SAT study guide. Take some practice tests and learn the techniques. That should help.

Other than that, read articles in magazines (TIME and National Geographic are my personal favorites). That could also boost the score a little. But as for a huge jump in increase, it’s unlikely.

Hope this helped, good luck!

Semi related: So if I got a 2150 SAT but a 34 ACT and I had already signed up to retake the SAT in Oct, there’s no need to take it right? I should just cancel?

NuclearPenguins, the 34 ACT seems more impressive, so I would just send that score.
