Just Thought Of This.

Do boarding schools do their own version of a parent/teacher conference over e-mail or something?
Or when the parents come to visit, can they meet with teachers?

I think it is typical for each school to have Parents' Weekend or Day in the fall. Here is what they do at Blair Blair Academy - Parents Large schools might offer 2 parent/teacher events so the crowds aren't too large. Aside from meeting with teachers that evening and attending mini-classes, much of the parent/school communication is done with the Advisor. Blair also has an assigned Monitor who watches over academics, and having a Monitor might not be typical. The other person with whom your parents might exchange emails is the the Dorm Master.

On parent's weekend (my school has one in the fall and in the spring) parents have conferences with teachers as well as going to shortened classes with us. Other than that, parent to school communication whether about grades or anything else is usually done through our advisors.
