I see on the Duke website that they strongly recommend testing no later than Oct...but typically receive Nov. scores. My Oct. SATII scores are delayed and I probably won't get them until after the Nov. 1 deadline. Should I submit my SATIs now just to ensure they have something, and send my SATIIS when I get them (thus doubling the money spent) or simply wait until I get my subject scores?

why did you not put Duke down as a score recipient when you took your Oct SATIIs? I thought that was free if you did it the day of the testing.

Because I didn’t know how I’d do and I didn’t expect my scores to be delayed…

So you were always prepared for the possibility that you would not submit at least part of your scores until Nov (if you needed to retest) in which case your files would not be complete until then anyway. So just do what you would have done in that case whether you submit together or not. The situation really hasn’t changed much from the two possibilities for which you prepared.

Actually, that’s incorrect. I only need two SATs. I took a third just for the risk, but didn’t want to submit it if I bombed it (which is very very possible). I fully intended to submit my Lit and U.S. Sooo yeah.

^ In which case you probably should have taken the two that you wanted to submit together in Oct and designated Duke as a recipient then taken the other one in Nov and wait until you had the score for that one before deciding whether to submit that one or not.

Or you can just forget about all that Score Choice BS and let Duke see everything. Given their lenient policy on superscoring and stuff they’ll probably take the two highest ones anyway.

But in answer to your original question, Duke is almost certain to get your scores either way if you managed to send it in the first 2 weeks or so of Nov. Additionally, it won’t matter if “they have something,” if your file is not complete when they start reviewing applications, they likely won’t even give it to the readers to look at.
